A Storyteller Between Sunlight and Shadow
I write from the spaces where light meets darkness — Dominican roots, women’s lived truths, ancestral memory, and the quiet magic that follows us through our lives. My work is faceless by choice, but never voiceless. The privacy protects my spirit; the stories reveal my heart.
My pen name, Marielly de la Sol, carries both warmth and mystery.
It’s who I am on the page: rooted, tender, bold, and a little luminous.

Why I Write the Way I Write
For a long time, I didn’t have the time or space to bring my stories to life.
Motherhood, work, family, and community pulled me in a hundred directions.
The ideas lived in me, quietly, consistently, insistently, waiting for a doorway.
New creative tools finally opened that door.
But everything you read here is shaped by my hands, my edits, my culture, and my lived truth. I revise deeply. I rewrite obsessively. I honor the craft. The stories may begin as sparks, but the shaping of them, the voice, the choices, the tenderness, the rhythm, is mine.

The Kind of Stories I Tell
I write for women who’ve lived a little—women who know deseo y pérdida, alegría y miedo, responsabilidad y reinvención.
Women who want magic without losing meaning.
Women who want cultura without cliché.
Women who want mystery that unfurls like breath.
My stories explore:

Why I Remain Faceless
My choice to stay faceless is intentional.
It gives me freedom.
It gives me honesty.
It gives me room to create sin el ruido, without the gaze that often follows women, especially women of color, especially mothers, especially those who dare to build worlds.
You’ll see my hands, my notebooks, my desk, my café, los detalles dominicanos that live in every story, but not my face.
My identity is in the work, not the portrait.
If anything, the facelessness invites you closer.

What Matters
I come from women who carried stories in their silence.
Vengo de un pueblo donde la magia vive en la memoria.
I come from a lineage where truth is passed down through whispers, comida, ritual, and intuition.
My fiction honors that.
